The official rulebook on how to be crowned
‘Fantasy Master of the Universe’!!!
The
Ultimate Fantasy Universe is a comprehensive competition taking
into account each participant’s overall performance in the
following events & fantasy leagues:
·
Fantasy Football
·
Fantasy Basketball
·
Fantasy Hockey
·
Fantasy Baseball
·
Fantasy Golf
·
NCAA
tournament Brackets.
The
purpose of the UFU is to determine the single most dominant
fantasy sports participant within all leagues represented by The
Post.
The
UFU season begins with Fantasy Football and ends with the
Fantasy Baseball Playoffs the following year. Ex: UFU 2009
begins with the FFL’s in 2009 and ends after FBL playoffs in
2010.
COST:
$20
Entry fee. This gets you one team/bracket per sport/event.
Put
your money where your mouth is… each additional team you want to
place into the UFU will cost an additional $5. Be aware however
that poor finishes in any league result in negative points
toward your overall UFU score (see SCORING section below).
You
may choose not to participate in one (or several) of the sports
in order to prevent loss of points in a sport/event you aren’t
familiar with. However, forfeiture of a team in one sport/event
DOES NOT grant you an additional free team in another sport.
WINNINGS:
UFU
Champion will receive the following prizes:
·
A
minimum of $500 cash (more will be awarded depending on the
amount of participants taking place… so get your friends to
play!)
·
A
UFU Goblet with team name inscription (gets you eternal drink
specials at The Post)
·
A
UFU plaque declaring you the Fantasy Master of the Universe
ENROLLMENT:
You
can enroll individually or as an entire league. Submitting a
team into the UFU is completely independent from what anyone in
your league chooses to do
Individually
- You will be competing for the UFU Championship along with
all other UFU participants at The Post.
By
League
- Each of you will not only be competing for the UFU
championship along with all other UFU participants at The Post,
but we’ll also create a separate universe solely for your league
members (so you can determine who amongst your league is the
true fantasy expert). Signing up an entire league does not
result in additional cost nor does it provide your league
any additional prizes
Any
team you wish to enroll into the UFU must be part of a league
that is signed up at The Post. For most leagues, this will
occur at your league’s FFL Draft. If your draft isn’t at The
Post, your league can still sign up as a Post league by having
your league members register your league at The Post any time
after your draft has taken place. At this time each of you will
be given your Post fantasy sports ID card.
If you are interested in signing up more teams in any sports
(other than golf and NCAA Bracket) you can visit
www.thepostsportsbar.com/ufu to do so!
You
will have access to UFU standings via our website at
http://www.thepostsportsbar.com/ufu
Standings are updated 2 weeks after each fantasy sport season
has ended.

The
point system is the same for all leagues; roto leagues, head to
head leagues, 10 team leagues, 12 team leagues, etc. (A league
must include a minimum of 8 teams in order to be eligible for
the UFU) and the playoff results are used for head-to-head
leagues.
PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Before the start of each sport’s regular season, you must notify
us of any of your teams you want submitted into the UFU.
This can be done online or in person at The Post.
After your league’s championship, you must provide a print
screen of your league standings (With your original team name)
in order for us to verify your team’s placement.
Failure of a participant to report their league standings within
10 days of their league’s championship will result in the
maximum point deduction for that sport/event.
This can be done easiest by simply taking a screen shot of
your computer screen with your final standings pulled up (CTRL +
print screen - this button is usually found in the top-right
of the keyboard). Then simply paste that screen in the
body of an e-mail (CTRL
+ V) and send to the Commish (commish@thepostsportsbar.com).
That's it.
If at any time you have problems with this process, e-mail us at
commish@thepostsportsbar.com and we'll take you through it
step by step.
GENERAL REMINDERS:
·
The
UFU season begins with fantasy football and ends with Fantasy
Baseball Playoffs.
·
Your
team must be part of an 8 team league (or more) in order to be
eligible for UFU credit.
·
Your
league can use any fantasy sports website and still be eligible
for our fantasy leagues. Ex. Your league can run through
Fanball, Yahoo, ESPN, etc.
·
Your
entire league does not have to participate in the UFU for
you to submit your team from that league. Submitting a team
into the UFU is completely independent from what anyone in your
league chooses to do.
·
There is no minimum or maximum number of teams you can submit
into the UFU. Remember, the more teams you enter, the more
opportunity you have to accumulate points.
·
An
infinite number of participants may sign up for the right to
compete in the UFU (This actually isn’t true… the total amount
of participants would be capped at about 6.77 billion i.e. the
world’s population)
·
Remember to submit a print screen of your end of playoff/season
standings with 10 days of your league’s championship in order
for us to verify your league placement. Failure to do so
results in your team posting the maximum point deduction for
that sport.
·
To
check your ranking in the Ultimate Fantasy Universe, just go to

and click on "standings" at any
time.
·
Remember, fantasy sports (similar to golf) is a gentleman’s
game. Be respectful. Please don’t try to cheat the system…
The fantasy Gods will smite you.
